Finding the Way to Perfect

by Victoria Robinson

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could attain a perfect life? A perfect job, a perfect house, a perfect marriage, and on and on the list could go. But alas, none of that is attainable due to that infamous lady… Eve! The first lady singlehandedly wrecked your chance for a perfect world.

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise...

A High Price!

SIN 091714by Victoria Robinson

In life we must always consider the cost of our purchases. Sometimes we tend to think that only wrong purchases are costly, but the truth is that our Lord has admonished us that following Him comes with a high price. Oh, but the rewards on that eternal investment are wonderful!

Jesus Christ is a Pearl of great price, a Jewel of inestimable value, which will make those who have it rich, truly rich, rich toward God; in having him, we h...

Simply Relinquish!

Relinquish 081514by Victoria Robinson

Relinquish? Who … me? You want me to give something up? Even something I have a right to? There is an irony to the concept of relinquishing what we want. It is the scriptural truth that the tighter we hold onto what we want—the more frustrating and difficult our life will be. When we simply relinquish everything to our heavenly father, that is when we gain everything...

Finding Your Way to Happiness

Finding the Road to Happiness 080214by Victoria Robinson

The prophet Jeremiah once lamented that he had forgotten happiness. Compare those words of despair to the uplifting words of King Solomon in the book of Ecclesiastes when he said, “To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, …” This renowned King known for his great wisdom, in this same passage, also goes on to explain what causes unhappiness...

Life Could Be Better Without the “un”!

Life is Better Without the UN 070514by Victoria Robinson

Oh my, how two little letters can change the meaning of so many words! The prefix, “un” can modify words in a good way or, unfortunately, in a very bad way. Consider these words that had a wonderful meaning until the prefix of un was added:

 unproductive – productive

♥ ungodly – godly

 unloving – loving

unkindness – kindness

unknowledgeable  – knowledgeable

uncontrollable – controllable

 unforgiveness – forgivenes...

Seeing Is Believing … Or Is It?

Seeing is Believing Or is It 060514by Victoria Robinson

If seeing is believing, then why do we sometimes struggle to believe? In the book of John, Jesus tells a large group of people, “But I said to you that you have seen Me, and yet do not believe.” It is easy for us to scoff at these pitiful people. Afterall, they saw and heard Jesus in the flesh. Unbelievable! Yet you and I are no different when we forget all our heavenly Father has done for us, and do not trust Him for our future.

The evide...

The Purity of Praise

by Victoria Robinson

The Word of God shows us that God inhabits the praises of His people. Since God is pure, then when we choose to praise Him we are focusing on purity.

The psalmist said, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”  Wow! If we would align our hearts with this same truth and praise our heavenly Father for how He chose to create us then the purity of praising Him would set us free...

Mirror, Mirror … Am I the Godliest?

by Victoria Robinson

Girlfriends, have you looked in the mirror recently? Of course you have. Just basic grooming requires time in front of the mirror everyday, not to mention if you are glamming it up to go out. The real question isn’t if you look in the mirror on a daily basis—the real question is do you really see yourself as the Lord does?

When judging our spiritual appearance it is so easy to start looking around at others instead of focusing on oursel...

The Fragility of a House of Cards

by Victoria Robinson

My father has a degree in building construction, so he knows of the importance of making sure plans for a building are designed in a structurally sound manner. I on the other hand, tend to focus more on the façade and what looks nice. The trouble with my focus is that without his knowledge of building construction, my beautiful design ideas would be nothing more than a “house of cards”. Intriguing to look at, but fragile in design.

The Goodness of Suffering

by Victoria Robinson

Some words just naturally go together. Like …

peaches & cream

dates & romance

ice cream & summer

vacation & fun

chocolate & strawberries

But some word combinations bring to mind the term oxymoron. There are just some word combinations that seem contradictory. Like the words goodness and suffering. Yet without tremendous suffering you and I could never experience the goodness of God...
