"After this meeting, we can affirm that these WOTLK Gold guys WANT to get legacy WoW servers, that's definitely the case," said project manager Viper on the Nostalrius forums. "We have done everything we could for this meeting to be as professional and discussion as professional as it could be as well, and this definitely was a pleasant experience for the entire Blizzard team, CEO Mike Morhaime in particular."

The scheduled time for the meeting was less than two hours, but ended up running for more than five hours. Viper affirms she was Blizzard was "very intrigued, curious [and] attentive." The attendees included Morhaime and chief producer J. Allen Brack, and game director Tom Chilton. Viper mentions that the Nostalrius team was "very amazed by the profound respect and admiration they all have for" the work on their legacy servers they'd completed.

The discussions that took place included the history of the pirate server as well as the process of making it, and other technical details including the anti-cheat technology the team developed for Nostalrius. But, nothing related to bringing the official legacy servers to live was confirmed.

"First of all, you must not think about the fact that, at a company of this size that nothing is decided in one meeting and they have the power to declare any decision that is official their own," Viper wrote. The company added that Blizzard does have sources for "Vanilla WoW," and it would take "tremendous work" to get up and running.

"In out of the technological requirements of releasing a server that is older, Blizzard should also be able to deliver an extremely well-crafted game that will be accessible to their millions gamers, something their current non-official old servers can't offer," Viper wrote. It is possible to see the kind of technical work will need to be completed on Nostalrius forums.

Viper ended his blog post in a positive manner and said the Blizzard is "now very aware" of all the player who would like to participate in World of Warcraft on legacy servers, thanks in large part due to a petition that had over 250.000 signatures. Viper added that Brack will keep in contact via the Nostalrius team.
