High pressure aluminum die casting is a manufacturing process in which molten metal (aluminum) is injected under pressure with a die casting machine into a steel mold or mold to form a product.

Due to the dimensional accuracy and smooth surface, most high pressure die castings do not require machining to remove burrs around the edges and possibly drilled and tapped holes. Compared to other casting processes, high pressure casting is fast and inexpensive to produce.

At present, 80%-90% of the world's high pressure die casting alloys use aluminum. In many cases, aluminum high pressure die castings can replace steel, increasing strength and reducing part weight.

High pressure casting production

With the right die casting tooling and proper high pressure die casting part design, thousands of high pressure die casting parts can be produced in a single day. In some cases, dynamic die casting can produce 20,000 to 30,000 high pressure die castings per week.

High pressure die casting mold

High-pressure die-casting molds, sometimes referred to as high-pressure die-casting molds, are made of steel and can withstand high temperatures and extremely high pressures. There are many types of high pressure die casting molds, from simple cheap inserts to high pressure die casting molds for just one part. Once a high pressure die cast tool is produced, the cost of manufacturing a high pressure die cast part is very low.
